How to Confirm the DTV Tunin
g
Status on the Di
g
ital Tuner Service Menu
If block noise is generated, it is necessary to acquire the DT
V
Tuning Status for the reception frequency of the signal in
which block noise is generated. For comparison, it is also necessary to acquire the DT
V
Tuning Status for another
reception frequency of the signal in which block noise is not generated. The DT
V
Tuning Status page to be acquired is
shown below:

IF AGC : IF AGC level of the signal currently being received.
The AGC-level limits in normal reception are shown below.
Use the following values only as a guide, because they may
be affected by the reception environment.
MER
: Quality of the signal currently being received.
The signal qualities in normal reception are shown below.
Use the following values only as a guide.
BER (Pre-
V
) : Pre-
V
iterbi Bit Error Rate of the signal currently being
received.
BER (Post-
V
) : Post-
V
iterbi Bit Error Rate of the signal currently being
received. If the value is 2.000E-04, block noise is not
caused by a problem in the tuner.
Packet Error : Packet error count of the signal currently being received.
If the packet error count is “0,” block noise caused by
the tuner will not be generated.
Time
: Measured duration of BER (Pre-
V
), BER (Post-
V
), or
Packet Error. To reset the value to 0 and restart
measuring, press the
k
or
l
key on the remote
control
unit.
