Intended use
This unit is used to operate and monitor technical processes.
In accordance with Annex I of directive 94/9/EC (ATEX 95), the
PMI v315 ATEX and PMI o315 ATEX is a component (Ex component)
belonging to equipment group II, category 3GD. A separate conformity
assessment procedure must be carried out when installing these
components.
The PMI v315 ATEX and PMI o315 ATEX meets the following
design requirements:
EN 60079-15: For electrical apparatus for explosive atmospheres, Zone 2.
EN 50281-1-1:1998: For electrical apparatus for explosive atmospheres,
Zone 22.
The following preconditions must be met:
• The PMI v315 ATEX and PMI o315 ATEX must be built into protective
housing or control cabinets which meet the requirements of EN 60079-15
or EN 60079-0.
The housing protection type must be at least IP64.
• You must comply with the requirements of EN 60079-14 and/or EN
50281-1-2 when using and installing the units.
• For mechanical reasons, the following interfaces are not approved for use
in an Ex area: PCMCIA interface, USB Host1, USB Host2, USB Slave,
Audio, PS2, PC/104 interface and the expansion interface.
• Use original parts, gaskets and fastening kits to install the unit.
PMI o315 ATEX provides the opportunity to install third-party software.
PILZ GmbH & Co. KG accepts no liability for any damages, nor does it
provide support or any guarantee for the serviceability of the installed
software.
PMI o315 ATEX is supplied without any application software.
It is up to the customer to install this and start it appropriately.
INFORMATION
Please ensure that the graphics software is suitable for the ARMV4
processor type and the Windows CE.NET 4.2 operating system.
