USE EXPERIENCE ON VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH
THE KEYLESS SYSTEM
The top box is factory-set for this use mode, therefore no further
programming operations are necessary.
In this mode, the top case can be opened either via the RFID
key or via the button located near the lock, once the conditions
below are fulfilled.
OPENING WITH BUTTON
Enabling the opening button is subject to the control and activation
by the vehicle’s keyless system which will automatically determine
the consent to open the top box.
Once the user is recognised by pressing the vehicle’s keyless
knob (which switches on the Piaggio warning light on Beverly
and switches on the dashboard on MP3), after approximately 4
seconds, the top case is enabled to open via the button (on the top
case).
When pressed, the top case button activates the opening under the
above conditions.
The top case is also enabled for opening with the button once the
vehicle is started; however, the keyless system will prevent it from
being opened during a stop with the engine running (for example
at a traffic light or when parked in gear), to prevent unintentional
opening by third parties.
Before starting the journey, the top box can be opened
even with the engine running.
When the vehicle is stopped (keyless knob to
OFF/ Lock), the keyless remote will still re-enable after
approximately 4 seconds the button opening of the top
case.
Once the top box has been removed from the vehicle,
it can no longer be opened by simply pressing the button,
but the RFID key must be used.
LED INDICATION AROUND THE BUTTON
When the top case cover is raised, the red led on the
button will light up indicating the functionality set:
• one flash opening with the button is enabled
• two flashes opening with the button is disabled
The open or not properly closed status of the top box
is signalled by the red LED of the button, which is on fixed.
BATTERY LIFE
2 days after the last opening or enabling, the RFID Key opening is
disabled to extend the life of the internal battery. A solid red light on
the button indicates that the top case has remained open:
The top case must be closed after use.
A top case left open for more than 4 h will discharge the
internal battery, which will prevent the top case from
being opened with the RFID key until it is subsequently
enabled (keyless remote enabled on the vehicle).
