Functions
3.4.
Selecting the Resolution
The maximum resolution of the image sensor is 2,048 x 2,048: total 4,194,304 pixels. By reducing
the resolution, images can be taken with even faster frame rates, or the recording duration can be
extended accordingly.
•
The recording time when the horizontal resolution is set to 1,920 is the same as when the horizontal
resolution is 2,048.Also, the recording time when the vertical resolution is set to 1,080 is the same
as when the horizontal resolution is 1,088.
Example: The recording time is the same for a 2,048 x 1,080 pixels resolution and a 1,920 x 1,088
pixels resolution.
•
Please refer to “3.3 Setting and Registering the Frame Rate/Resolution” of “Photron FASTCAM
Viewer User’s Manual” for the details of the setup.
3.4.1. Resolution Lock
Generally, a max resolution under respective FPS will be set automatically when the FPS is
changed. Under the circumstance of using a Resolution Lock function, the speed can be changed
while resolution is fixed to a certain value.
•
When using a Resolution Lock function, if a resolution that does not compatible with the specified
FPS is selected, a max resolution under the specified speed will be set automatically instead.
