Set the coffee strength you prefer with the intensity knob. (Fig. 12)
To choose the coffee strength, turn the knob to the preferred position: mild, regular or intense.

Remove the water tank and fill it with fresh, cold tap water (Fig. 13).
The level indications correspond to small cups of 80ml and large cups of 120ml.

Put the lid on the water tank (1) and put the water tank back onto the appliance properly
(2) (Fig. 8).

Take a paper filter (type 1x4 or no. 4) and fold the sealed edges to prevent tearing and folding
(Fig. 14).

Open the filter holder lid (1) and put a paper filter in the filter holder (2) (Fig. 15).

Put pre-ground coffee (filter-fine grind) in the filter (1) and close the filter holder lid (2) (Fig. 16).
Tip: Experiment with the amount of coffee and water to find out the perfect coffee-to-water ratio for you.

Press the on/off switch downwards to switch on the appliance (Fig. 17).

When all the water has passed through the filter, you can remove the jug from the appliance.
If you remove the jug for more than 20 seconds before all the water has passed through the
filter, the filter may overflow.

The coffee is kept hot on the hotplate until you switch off the appliance or until the appliance
switches of automatically after the set keep-warm time.

Open the filter holder lid (1) and remove the filter holder (2) (Fig. 18).

Let the appliance cool down for at least 3 minutes before you start brewing coffee again.
If you set a keep-warm time of 40 minutes or more, the light in the on/off switch starts to flash after
30 minutes to indicate that the freshness of your coffee is declining.
Timer
You can use the timer to preset the time at which you want the appliance to brew coffee.
Note: If you want to use the timer function, make sure the clock is set to the correct time.
Note: After a power failure, you have to set the clock and the timer again.

The hour indication starts to flash on the display.

Press the + button to increase the time or the - button to decrease the time (Fig. 21).

The display shows the set hour (e.g. 7:00).
Tip: Press and hold the + or - button to put the time forward quickly.

Press the clock button to switch from hours to minutes. Press the + button one or more times
to set the minutes for the timer (Fig. 22).

The display shows the set minutes (e.g. 7:20).

Press the clock button to confirm the time set for the timer (Fig. 23).

The timer icon appears on the display and the programmed time is saved automatically.

Follow steps 1 to 8 of section ‘Brewing coffee’ to prepare the appliance for brewing coffee.

The appliance starts brewing coffee at the preset time.
If you want to switch off the timer, press the clock button once. The timer icon disappears to
confirm that the timer is switched off.
