Perfect cream disk (13)
For better functioning of the perfect cream
disk, insert the frothing break drain in the filter
holder cup.
We recommended cleaning the perfect
cream disk every day, before use, to prevent
the passage hole from plugging up. If
necessary, use a needle to unplug the hole.
When the coffee grind is not correct, use of the
perfect cream disk will produce the typical
espresso cream.
Note:
Use the perfect cream disk only with
a large 2 cup filter.
How to make a good cappuccino:
Before beginning, make sure you have
everything you need close at hand, including
the coffee jug (or cup) half filled with cold milk
and coffee cups.
Froth the milk
The density of the frothed milk will depend on
the milks fat content. The wand (8) (or the milk
frother, pos. 24) will produce all the froth
necessary without bringing the milk to a boil.
After a couple of tries and a little effort, youll
become expert in making cappuccino. Move
the wand (or milk frother) slightly to the outside
so that the jug can be inserted without bumping
against the base of the espresso machine.
Version with wand
1 Prepare the espresso in large cups as
already indicated above.
2. Place the jug half-filled with cold milk under
the steam wand. See figure 3.
OPTIONAL
2. Remove the filter holder (9) from the brew
head (14). Select the correct filter (10 and
11) and place it in the filter holder (9). Use
the small filter for one cup and the large one
for 2 cups.
3. Fill the 1 or 2 cup filter with ground coffee,
using the special measure (20). Use one
measure for each cup of coffee. Do not overfill.
Tamp the coffee using the special coffee
tamper (18). Do not tamp too much.
4. Clean the edge of the filter and/or filter holder
(9-10-11) of any coffee residues, and then
insert it into the brew head (14).
5. Place one or two cups beneath the filter holder
(9) depending on the coffee you want to
make. Using one hand, pull the distribution
lever (2) up.
Important:
We recommend that you use the
other hand to grasp the handle of the filter
holder to keep the machine steady during
distribution. Lower the distribution lever (2)
all the way down, thus distributing the coffee.
For a uniform stream of coffee, keep a steady
pressure on the lever (2) proportionate to the
resistance encountered during distribution.
Repeat the operation until you obtain the
desired quantity of coffee. A good coffee
made following the proper procedure will
have a typical brown cream. If you are
unsuccessful, check the chapter entitled
Troubleshooting
at page 8.
6. Remove the cups and serve.
7. To make more coffee, repeat steps 3 to 7,
being careful to slowly and carefully remove
the filter holder by pulling it to the left, and
be careful not to burn yourself with the water
remaining in the coffee grounds. A little
water will continue to drip when the filter
holder is removed. This is due to the water
pressure in the system. Remove the grounds
from the filter holder.
