Disinfection
1. Place the dismantled nebulizers in the disinfection
solution for at least the time stated by the manufac-
turer of the disinfectant.
2. Intensively rinse the nebulizers at least 10 times in
fresh, distilled or de-ionized water each; repeat this
cleaning procedure, if the last rinsing solution was
not clear or if there was still visual contaminations
on the product.
3. Dry the nebulizers with filtered compressed air.
4. If possible, immediately re-assemble the nebulizers
and pack them (see chapter “Storage”).
Possible alternative:
chemicalthermal disinfection
Place the individual parts of the nebulizer in the instru-
ment disinfector. Add a suitable cleansing agent /
disinfectant and select the 60°C program.
Storage
Keep the sterilized nebulizer in a clean, lint-free place
protected from contamination.
Care of the compressed air tubing
Generally, a disinfection of the compressed air tubing
is not required. In the case of visible condensation in
the tubing, take the following steps:
Pull the compressed air tubing from the nebulizer.
Switch on the MicroDrop
®
compressor. Leave the
compressor running until any condensation in the
tubing has been removed by the air-flow.
In case of worse contamination or at least after one
year the compressed air tubing has to be replaced for
hygienic reasons.
