1. Operating instructions
This operating manual is intended for:
- electricians and
- qualified electrotechnical persons.
The BENNING MM 6 is designed for measurements in dry surroundings.It must
not be used in electrical circuits with rated voltages higher than 1000 V DC and
750 V AC (for more details, see section 6 “Ambient conditions”).
The following symbols are used in the Operating Manual and on the
BENNING MM 6 itself:
This symbol indicates an electrical hazard.
This symbol indicates sources of danger when using the
BENNING MM 6 (see documentation).
This symbol on the BENNING MM 6 indicates that the unit is
protection insulated (safety class II).
This symbol on the BENNING MM 6 indicates the fuses which it
contains.
This symbol appears in the display for a discharged battery.
This symbol indicates the “diode-testing” application.
This symbol indicates the “continuity testing” application. The buzzer
provides an audible signal.
This symbol marks the range “capacity testing”.
(DC)-voltage or current.
(AC)-voltage or current.
Earth (voltage to earth).
