Use
1.
Install this chimney on a flat, heat-resistant and non-flammable surface. This chimney is
heavy and it is therefore recommended not to move it frequently once installed.
2.
Cover the base of the chimney with a layer of 5 cm of dry sand and gravel. This will help to
protect the chimney from excessive heat and cracking.
3.
Set up the base of your fire with a layer of newspaper, dry twigs and other tinder, leaving
gaps for air to pass through.
4.
Light to start the fire and stack one or two small logs on top. Use appropriate tools. Use
only a couple of small logs at the time and do not overload as a too intense fire may
damage the chimney due to overheating. With use, the interior of the chimney will be
covered with a layer of soot, which will cover the pores and produce a more intense fire.
5.
Let the fuel burn out completely after use.
5.
Extinguishing
Do not use water to extinguish this chimney as it could cause damage or cracks. Just stop
adding fuel and allow the fire to die naturally or douse with sand.
