2. Place the center clamp onto the rail and push the 

clamp up until the clamp leg comes into contact with 
the bottom of the Peragon side rail (no washers are 
needed). Tighten the bolts to 160 inch-pounds or 13 
foot- pounds (17 Newton-meters) if you are using a 
torque wrench. Do NOT over-tighten.

3. Tighten the rails down to the center clamp using the 

provided nuts. Do NOT over-tighten.

GAS SPRING INSTALLATION

1. Compress each spring several times before installa

-

tion to loosen its movement.

2. Position each gas spring with the rod end (A) toward 

the tailgate. 

3. Snap the springs onto the ball studs on the ramps 

(B). 

4. Then snap the gas springs onto the ball studs on the 

panels (C).

NOTICE: Gas Springs must be installed rod end 
down, or failure will result! If gas springs are 
installed rod end up, the internal seals will dry out 
from lack of lubrication.

NOTE: If you need to remove the gas springs, move the sil

-

ver lever to the center position (D) and pull the spring from 
the ball stud.
