Figure 31: Rails centered in truck bed
3. Use a tape measure to center the rails from side to side (D) at the tailgate end. Measure from the inside lip of the
truck bed to the inside edge of the t-slot (E) on each side. Make sure the measurement is the same on each side.
4. Use the provided spacing washers so that the underside of the rail lip is 3/16”-5/8” above your truck rail. Quick Tip:
Place a 3/16” drill bit between the rail lip and truck rail at each clamp to set the gap. Add washers to hold rail at that
height.
5. When the spacing is correct, partially tighten the nuts to allow only limited movement. You should be able to feel
resistance when moving the rails.
Figure 32: Level rails
6. Make sure the rails are parallel to the tailgate (F). Rails must be level.
7. When all adjustments are complete, tighten rails to Quick Clamps.
NOTE: The top of the rails should overhang the tailgate.
8. Inspect both rail seals. The seals should rest gently on top of bed rails. Make sure the seals are flared outward. If a
seal is curled under itself, slide a credit card or other thin, non-abrasive item under the seal to work it outward.
IMPORTANT:
Make sure each rail is level and straight. Bend the horizontal legs of the Quick Clamps to achieve level rails, if necessary.
See “Quick Clamps Installation” on page 11. Make sure all Quick Clamps are secure.
