Warning! When using power tools, basic safety 

precautions should always be followed to reduce 

the risk of injury, electric shock and personal injury,

1.  Keep the work area clean

2.  Consider the work environment

Do not expose the tool to rain.

• 

Do not use the tool in damp or wet places.

• 

Keep the work area well lit.

• 

Do not use the tool in the presence of 

 

flammable liquids and gases.

3.  Protect against electric shock

• 

Avoid body contact with earthed surfaces. 

• 

Make sure the tool is properly grounded.

4.  Keep other people away

• 

Do not allow persons, especially children, who 

are not involved in the work to touch the tool or 

the extension cord and keep them away from 

the work area.

5.  Store unused tools

• 

When not in use, the tool should be stored in a 

dry, locked place out of the reach of children.

6.  Do not force the tool

• 

 It will make the job better and safer if it is used 

at the pace for which it was intended.

 

7.  Use the right tools

• 

Do not force small tools to do the same job as 

a larger tool.

• 

Do not use the tool for purposes for which it 

was not intended.

• 

The band saw is only intended for metal sawing 

and should not be used for sawing in wood.

 

8.  Wear proper clothing

• 

Do not wear loose clothing or jewellery, they 

can easily get caught in moving parts.

• 

Protective shoes are recommended for outdoor 

work. Use hair nets to keep long hair away.

9.  Wear protective equipment

• 

Wear approved safety goggles / face 

 

protection when using this machine.

• 

Use a face or dust mask. 

 

10. Connect dust extraction equipment

• 

If the appliance has a device for connecting 

vacuum cleaners or collection equipment, 

make sure that these are connected and used 

correctly.

 

11.  Do not strain the cord

• 

Never pull on the cord to disconnect it from the 

socket.

• 

Keep cord away from heat, oil and sharp edges.

12. Secure the workpiece

• 

If possible, use clamps or a screw to secure the 

workpiece. It’s safer than using your hands.

13. Do not stretch over the tool

• 

Keep your balance at all times.

14. Maintain the tool with care

• 

Keep cutting tools sharp and clean for better 

performance.

• 

Follow the instructions for lubrication and 

 

replacement of accessories.

• 

Check cables regularly and if any are damaged, 

have them repaired by an authorised service 

workshop.

• 

Check extension cords regularly and replace 

them if damaged.

• 

Keep handles dry, clean and free of oil and 

grease.

15. Disconnect the tool

• 

When not in use, before servicing and when 

replacing accessories such as blades and 

 

cutters, disconnect the tool from the power 

supply.
