SAFETY
Night Time Riding:
Riding a bicycle at night can be dangerous and is not
recommended. It is very difficult for motorists and pedestrians
to see a cyclist at night. If you chose to ride at dawn or dusk, take
extra precautions to increase your visibility including but not limited
to checking that all safety reflectors are clean and visible, using
front and rear lights, and wearing reflective clothing. If you must
ride at night, slow down and ride cautiously; make sure your front
and rear lights are fully charged and operational before you depart.
Standover Height:
Standover height is the distance from the ground to the top of
the frame where your crotch is when straddling the bicycle. It is
essential to have at least 1 inch of clearance between the frame
and the ground, and the crotch measurement of the rider (Figure 1).
If your crotch touches the frame when straddling the bicycle with
your heels on the ground, do not ride the bicycle, the frame is too
large. Standover height for step-through frames is not applicable;
instead fit is determined by saddle height range. Make sure you are
able to adjust the saddle position without exceeding the “Minimum
Insertion” or “Maximum Extension” mark on the seat post.
