after a few seconds. This is normal and the test leads should be kept fastened until the measured
resistance value has stabilized.
In open probes or without attached test leads "OL" is displayed continuous, because the
resistance is theoretically infinitely high and therefore far greater than the maximum
measurement range.
7.11. capacitance measurements
Attention!
The capacitor must be discharged before measurement. Short-circuit the capacitor terminals to
discharge.
Avoid contact with bare leads of the capacitor (risk of injury from electric shock!). Trying to measure a
capacitor under voltage can cause damage to your measurement device.
To measure the capacitance of a capacitor, proceed as described below:
First, press the SHIFT key and then press the function key Hz%.
Connect the red test lead to V /
Ω / -II-/Hz input, and black lead to the COM input.
For measurement of polarized capacitors pay attention to the polarity!
Connect test leads to the capacitor to be measured.
Read the capacitance value in the LCD screen of the device.
7.12. Linear frequency measurement:
Attention!
Do not measure in circuits with voltages higher than 1000V rms. Exceeding this voltage level causes
a risk of serious injury from electrical shock and / or the risk of damage to the device.
The function for frequency measurement of a sinusoidal signal is only possible in connection with an
AC voltage measurement and not a separate measurement function.
Proceed for the measurement of sinusoidal frequencies as follows:
Switch on the AC voltage function by pressing the SHIFT key and then switch the V key.
The primary display is lit, the AC function symbol and in the secondary display the operation icon
Hz.
Connect the red test lead to V /
Ω / -II-/Hz input, and black lead to the COM input.
Connect the test leads to the live circuit to be measured and read the LCD display. The
maximum measurable frequency is 60kHz. The range is selected automatically.
