Operation
Power on / off
Press the power key for more than 2 seconds to
turn the device on or off. When turning the
device on, it “beeps” and the display lights up.
After 3 minutes of inactivity, the device
automatically turns off and is not operational.
AC Voltage Detection
Attention:
Always test the device’s functionality
on a known live circuit prior usage.
Approach the AC voltage source with the
device’s tip. If voltage is detected, the device will
make a “beep” sound and the tip lights up red.
As the intensity of the voltage signal changes,
the bar graph on the screen as well as the
frequency of beeping sounds and blinking lights
increases or decreases, depending on the
signal’s intensity. The signal’s intensity depends
on the distance between the device and the
voltage source. The further the device is away
from the voltage source, the weaker the signal
becomes.
Dual Range (High / Low Sensitivity)
The device is in low sensitivity mode by default,
when turning it on (48-1000V). In order to switch
to the high sensitivity setting (12-1000V), press
the Sensitivity / Flashlight button for more than 1
second. Depending on which mode chosen, the
device will emit different visual and audio signals.
Refer to the overview below for each mode.
Low-Sensitivity Mode:
Turned on
12V-48V AC
48V-1000V AC
Single „beep“,
green screen
No beeping
signal, green
screen
High-frequency
beeping signal,
the tip illuminates
continuously in
red, red screen
High-Sensitivity Mode:
Turned on
12V-48V AC
48V-1000V AC
Single „beep“,
green sensitivity
button & screen
Low frequency
beeping signal,
the tip illuminates
continuously in
red
High-frequency
beeping signal,
the tip illuminates
continuously in
red, red screen
When the device is in high-sensitivity mode, the
tester will be more sensitive and will show
voltage indication from a further distance from
the voltage source than in low-sensitivity mode.
