• SmartNode Installation
Connecting cables
Connect the cables in the following order:
1.
Connect the ISDN terminals and NT to the BRI ports (see section
“Connecting ISDN terminals and NT
to the SmartNode device’s ISDN BRI ports”
2.
Install the RJ-11 voice port (FXS)/(FXO) cable or cables (see section
“Installing an interface cable on the
SmartNode device’s FXS and FXO interface ports”
3.
Connect the 10/100/1000Base-T Ethernet LAN and WAN (see section

4.
Connect the power mains cable (see section

The SmartNode SN5540 series comes with an optional Fiber-SFP, G.SHDSL(EFM-ATM) or VDSL-ADSL

The SmartNode Model SN5550 comes with an option for an SFP for Fiber WAN module. For details about

Connecting ISDN terminals and NT to the SmartNode device’s ISDN BRI ports
The SmartNode device comes with two or four ISDN BRI ports located on the rear panel (see
page 34). All ports can be connected to the PSTN (ISDN NT) or terminals
