1 • General information
SN4554 rear panel
The SN4554 is an ISDN BRI PSTN Gateway for home or home-office use that supports two VoIP calls via a
single ISDN BRI port (see
figure 2
). The SN4554 rear panel ports are described in
table 2
.

Switched Auto-MDX Fast-Ethernet port, RJ-45 (see
figure 2
), connect the unit to an Inter-
net Telephony Service Provider (ITSP) [via an xDSL or cable modem] or a remote IP-PBX
[via a private corporate network].

port. RJ-45 connector presents the NET (User) side of the
S/T
interface
(see
figure 2
) for connecting the SN4554 to a PBX NT port or an ISDN BRI NT.

The SN4554 has a 5V DC 1A power input (see
figure 2
).
Reset
The reset button (see
figure 2
) has three functions:
•
Restart the unit with the current startup configuration—Press (for less than 1 second)
and release the
Reset
button to restart the unit with the current startup configuration.
•
Restart the unit with factory default configuration—Press the
Reset
button for
5 seconds until the
Power
LED (see
figure 3
on page 16) starts blinking to restart
the unit with factory default configuration.
•
Restart the unit in bootloader mode (to be used only by trained SN4554 techni-
cians)—Starting with the unit powered off, press and hold the
Reset
button as you
apply power to the unit. Release the
Reset
button when the
Power
LED starts blink-
ing so the unit will enter bootloader mode.
