“Seating” the Calibration Rod
Before
Recording
Calibration Data
See the Appendix at the end of the manual for information
on preparing the calibration rod.Click “Record” and collect a
smooth run of position versus force data. When the data col-
lection is finished, click “Stop”.
NOTE: A Polyno-
mial curve fit is auto-
matically applied to
the run of position
versus force data.
Step Five
•
Click “Next” to open Step Five, “Polynomial Fit”.
NOTE: By default, the “Show Curve Fit Editor” window is
open in the “Polynomial Fit” window.
•
If the message “Curve fit was successful” is shown,
click “Next” to open Step Six, “Name the calibration”.
NOTE: If the curve fit was not successful, use
“trial-and-change” in the Curve Fit Editor to adjust the coef-
ficients until the curve fit is successful. Click “Update Fit” to
determine if the new coefficients made a better curve fit
Step Six
.
•
Type a name for the calibration in the text area. (Exam-
ple names might be “Calibration 7000” or “Tension Cal-
ibration”.)
