Compressed air water separators series WS
16
WS2-19_Int-1_Rev.01
Intended use
The data on the type labels of water separa-
tor and condensate drain must be observed.
Non-observance of the data given there is
regarded as improper use. The water sepa-
rators are suitable for separating conden-
sates from compressed air and (gaseous)
nitrogen within the limits of defined values.
Impermissible application
The separation of condensates from critical
fluids is not permitted. The water separators
must never be used in connection with ex-
plosive, flammable or noxious gases of fluid
group 1 according to Directive 2014/68/EU.
Changes to the pressure vessels are not
permitted. Modifications will endanger the
operational safety and may cause damage
or personal injury.
Target group
The present Operating Instructions are
intended for specialists charged with
installation, operation and maintenance of
the water separator. Such persons must be
trained in handling pressure devices and
have basic knowledge of how to handle
pressure devices.
Safety instructions
Hazard due to a sudden release of
pressure!
Never remove any parts of the water sepa-
rator, or manipulate the same in any way,
for as long as the water separator is still
pressurised! A sudden escape of pressure
may cause serious injuries.
Depressurise the water separator before
carrying out any work on it!
Hazard caused by hot surfaces!
The fluid flowing through the water separa-
tor can have temperatures of up to 100 °C
(212 °F), in conjunction with an electronic
condensate drain up to 60 °C (140 °F). This
can heat up the body of the water separator.
Do not touch hot surfaces!
Wear safety gloves if applicable!
Accident prevention
Heed the specific accident prevention regu-
lations, for example UVV/BGV in Germany.
Note the operating instructions issued by
the owner.
Contamination hazard
Body and cartridge might be contamina-
ted by the separated substances. For this
reason, make sure to heed the safety data
sheet of the used fluid! Wear protective
clothing if applicable (gloves and breathing
protection).
Dispose of all parts in compliance with
applicable disposal regulations after disas-
sembly!
