Installation
Prerequisites
Installation details depend on the local situ-
ation. Therefore, heed the following general
hints:
▌
Check the water separator for damage. Do
not install or commission damaged water
separators.
▌
Depressurise the pipe before installation.
▌
Operate the water separator in a vertical
position only.
▌
Heed the flow direction:
An arrow on the upper part of the body
indicates the flow direction (Figure 1).
▌
Heed the dead weight of the water separa-
tor and install a support device if neces-
sary. Design the support device so it can
bear a water separator completely filled
with liquid.
▌
Make sure there is a direct connection to a
safety device preventing maximum permis-
sible limits (pressure and temperature) are
exceeded.
▌
Always install the water separator at the
point of the pipe system where the tempe-
rature is lowest.
▌
Provide sufficient space below the water
separator for troubleshooting (Table on
page 2, value
E
).
Installing the water separator
The water separator (except option OA)
comes ready for operation but without the
electronic condensate drain. When options
were ordered, you must first mount these to
the water separator in line with the respecti-
ve documentation.
-
Depressurise the pipe section.
-
Attach the support device if required
(Figure 2).
-
Align the water separator: The arrow on
the upper part of the body indicates the
flow direction (Figure 1).
-
Integrate the water separator into the
pipe. Make sure there are no leaks and the
separator is exactly vertical.
-
Establish the electrical connection of the
condensate drain according to the enc-
losed Operating Instructions.
-
Pressurise the pipe section again and
check the water separator for tightness
and correct function.
Operation
Avoid abrupt pressure rises or drops during
operation of the water separator. The water
separator can be damaged if the pressure
rises or drops too fast.
