Controlling SNMP Access
The DSU/CSU supports SNMP Version 1, which provides limited security through
the use of community names. There are three methods for limiting SNMP access:
Disabling SNMP access.
Assigning SNMP community names and the access type.
Assigning IP addresses of those NMSs that can access the unit.
Disabling SNMP Access
When the SNMP access is disabled, the DSU/CSU will not respond to SNMP
messages.
Procedure
To disable SNMP access:
1. Select the General SNMP Management options.
Main Menu
→
Configuration
→
Management and Communication
→
General SNMP Management
2. Disable the SNMP Management option.
3. Save your change.
See
