Chapter 8: Troubleshooting
This chapter describes some basic issues that may occur on your
PCS250G. It is not intended to be a complete guide for all
possible issues. If you have tried the possible solutions provided
below and are still experiencing technical issues, contact your
installer.
Symptom Solution(s)
No LEDs lit; no
signs of operation • Check cable connections
• Check power status
Unit cannot be
accessed remotely
by remote access
software • Check accuracy and spelling of access commands
(e.g., IP port, IP address, etc.)
• Check GPRS service status (SIM card LED should
be steady green or flashing green quickly)
• System may be busy reporting events (quick
green flashing of SIM card LED), wait and retry
• Check power status of panel
• Ensure the SIM card supports SMS services
No execution of
SMS commands • Ensure the command is correct, as well as the
password
• System may be busy reporting events, wait and
retry
• Ensure the SIM card supports SMS services
• Check GPRS service status (SIM card LED should
be steady green or flashing green quickly)
• Check cable interconnections
• Check power status of panel
No SMS reporting • Ensure panel is configured for SMS reporting
