Configuring a Static IP Address
There will be situations where it is desirable for the encoder to be assigned a static IP address. Some IT
environments prefer this method, as opposed to having a DHCP server dynamically assign IP addresses. If the
decoder is unable to detect a DHCP server within 15 seconds, then Automatic Private IP Addressing (APIPA) will
be used to assign the encoder an address within the IPv4 address block
169.254.xxx.xxx/16
. If this occurs,
connect an Ethernet cable directly from the
ETHERNET
port of the encoder to the LAN port of a computer, then
follow the instructions below.
Device Operation
1.
Login to the web server and click
Network
in the menu bar.

Click the
Mode
drop-down list and select
static
.
3.
Enter the desired IP address in the
IP address
field.
4.
Enter the subnet mask in the
Subnetmask
field.
5.
Enter the gateway (switch/router) address in the
Gateway
field.
6. Click the
SAVE
button to commit all changes.
