INTERNET COMMUNICATION
This apparatus offers the user an Internet function which provides a cheaper mode of communication to
send or receive a document. With this enhanced feature, the user could easily interface with either another
fax machine or a personal computer for communication.
To utilize this function, the user has to, first of all, subscribe to an Internet Service Provider (ISP) which will
register and provide the user with the following:
The above information is pre-requisite in registering the Internet Function in this apparatus (See pages XX-
XX). The configuration must be established before any electronic transmission.
UF-E1 can only read files transmitted in TIFF (Tagged Image File Format), which is primarily a graphic file.
Once the apparatus receives TIFF file, it will be stored into memory and printed out automatically when
reception completes. However, you can view this document in the personal computer. To do this, the user
has to download a viewer software from the website via a personal computer and convert the documents.
The address of the website is
http://www.panasonic.co.jp/mgcs/internetFAX
All i-FAX apparatus accept and recognize only TIFF documents. Any documents other than TIFF type, for
instance, BMP, IPG, GIF, TXT, DOC, XLS, etc., are received, an error message will be printed out to alert
the recipient. (See page 70). In this situation, the recipient has to inform the sender to convert his
documents to TIFF format before transmission. The converter software can be downloaded from the
following website:
