RDS (Radio data system) is a multiplex broadcasting system to help you
enjoy radio more and tune into programs easier.
PS
(Program service): Station name
PTY
(Program type): Displays the program type, and is used to search
for a type of program from amongst preset FM
stations.
RT
(Radio text): This unit can show up to 64 characters by scrolling
them across the display. The text could be about the
song, traffic and weather, phone in numbers, or police
information.
This unit does not have the emergency broadcast system (EBS) that
tunes automatically into emergency broadcasts.

While the PTY display is flashing
Press [MEMORY, PTY SEARCH].
The PTY indicator flashes while searching.
The unit switches to the station broadcasting the program.
The PTY indicator flashes for another two seconds.

“SELECT PTY FIRST” is displayed if you try to start without
selecting a program type.

“NO PTY” appears if PTY signals are not being
received.
