Preparation

14

Inserting the Battery

[Preparation]
• Check that the camera switch is set to [OFF] 

and the lens is fully retracted.

• Close the flash. (P39)

Slide the lever in the direction of the 
arrow to open the Memory Card/
battery door.

Insert the charged battery all the way 
in, until it is locked.

Close the Memory Card/battery door.

Open the Memory Card/battery door.

Slide the lock

 to the direction of the 

arrow to remove the battery.

Close the Memory Card/battery door.

• If you will not be using the camera for a long 

time, remove the battery.

• A fully charged battery needs to be left in 

the camera for at least one hour for the 
clock settings to be retained for about 
24 hours after the battery has been 
removed. (The time may be shorter if the 
battery is not charged sufficiently)
When the clock setting is cancelled, please 
set the date/time again. (P30)

• When the card is being read, do not open 

the Memory Card/battery door.

• The battery supplied with this camera is 

exclusively designed for this camera. Do not 
use with any other equipment.
