Intercom
Intercom calls can be made:
– between the base unit and a handset
– between handsets
Note:
R If you receive an outside call while talking on the
intercom, you hear an interrupt tone (page 28).
– To answer the call with the base unit, place
the corded handset on the cradle, then lift it
again. If the speakerphone is used, press
M N 2 times. You can also answer the call by
pressing M LINE 1 N or M LINE 2 N after hanging
up the intercom.
– To answer the call with the handset, press
M OFF N , then press M N .
R When paging unit(s), the paged unit(s) beeps
for 1 minute.
Making an intercom call
Base unit

Press M INTERCOM N .
When 2 or more handsets are registered:
– To page a specific handset, enter the
handset number.
– To page all handsets, press 0 or wait for a
few seconds.
R Lift the corded handset if needed.
R To stop paging, press M INTERCOM N .

When you finish talking, press M INTERCOM N
or place the corded handset on the cradle.
Handset

Press M INTERCOM N .

To page the base unit, press 0 .
To page another handset, enter its extension
number.
R To stop paging, press M OFF N .

When you finish talking, press M OFF N .
Answering an intercom call
Base unit

Lift the corded handset or press M INTERCOM N
to answer the page.

When you finish talking, place the corded
handset on the cradle or press
M INTERCOM N .
Handset
1
Press M N to answer the page.

When you finish talking, press M OFF N .
Note for base unit and handset:
R The ringer volume for intercom calls follows the
higher volume level of the 2 lines (page 27).
Handset locator
You can locate a misplaced handset by paging it.

Base unit: Press M LOCATOR N .
R All registered handsets beep for 1 minute.

To stop paging:
Base unit: Press M LOCATOR N .
Handset: Press M N , then press M OFF N .
Transferring calls
Outside calls can be transferred between 2 people.
Base unit

During an outside call, press M INTERCOM N .
When 2 or more handsets are registered:
– To page a specific handset, enter the
handset number.
– To page all handsets, press 0 or wait for a
few seconds.

Wait for the paged party to answer.
R If paged party does not answer, press the
flashing
M LINE 1 N or M LINE 2 N to return to
the outside call.

Place the corded handset on the cradle.
R The outside call is being routed to the
handset.
Handset
1
During an outside call, press M INTERCOM N to
put the call on hold.

To page the base unit, press 0 .
To page another handset, enter its extension
number.

Wait for the paged party to answer.
R If the paged party does not answer, press
M LINE 1 N or M LINE 2 N that is flashing on the
handset to return to the outside call.
