The battery icon indicates battery strength (p. 12).

The extension number of your handset is displayed if it has been registered to
the base unit (p. 3, 69, 70).

The display shows the dialed number, call status, programming options, phone
book items, caller information, etc.

The icons on the bottom line indicate the functions of the corresponding soft
keys which are located directly below the display (p. 9).
