6.4 Operating from a remote location
You can call your unit from a remote location and access the answering device.
Important:

Program the remote operation ID beforehand (feature #11, page 44).
L
Set the unit to TAD/FAX mode before going out (page 30).
L
Use a touch tone telephone for remote operations.
Helpful hints:

When you press a key, press firmly.
L
Please make a copy of the following table, and carry it with you when you go out.
6.4.1 Listening to recorded
messages

Call your unit.

Enter the remote operation ID during the
TAD/FAX greeting message.

Start remote operations.
When there are new recorded messages
1.
A long beep will sound.
2.
Short beep(s) will sound up to 8 times.

This indicates the number of new
messages.

New messages will be played back.
When there are no new messages
1.
A long beep will sound (short beep will
not sound).
2.
Wait for 4 seconds or press

3.
All the recorded messages will be played
back.
When voice memory is full
6 beeps will sound after playing back the
messages. Erase unnecessary messages.
6.4.2 Remote operations using
the remote command key

repeats a message. If you press this key
within 5 seconds of the beginning of a message,
the previous message will be played.

skips a message.

plays back only the new messages.

Note:

If you do not enter a remote command key
within 10 seconds after the last operation, the
unit will ask you to leave a marker message
(page 39).

If you do not press any command keys during
playback for over 2 minutes and 40 seconds,
the unit will beep twice and pause message
playback.
Answering device remote operation
1.
Call your unit.
2.
Enter the remote operation ID during the
TAD/FAX greeting message.
3.
Enter the remote command key within 10
seconds.

To record a message in a mailbox, call your
unit, press

then leave a message.
