11.3.3 Cordless handset

on the
base unit does not function
properly.

If this button is pressed during dialling, a pause will be inserted. If pressed
immediately after a dial tone is obtained, the last number dialled will be
redialled.
The receiving mode does not
function properly.

The Distinctive Ring is set (feature #31 on page 52).
During programming, I
cannot enter the code or ID
number.

All or part of the number is the same as another code or ID. Change the
number:
–
remote operation ID (code): page 48, or feature #11 on page 51.
–
fax activation code: feature #41 on page 53.
–
auto disconnection code: feature #49 on page 54.
The ink film runs out quickly.

Even if there are only a few sentences, every page that comes out of the
machine is considered a full page.

Turn OFF the following features:
–
sending report: feature #04 on page 50.
–
journal report: feature #22 on page 51.
–
Caller ID list: feature #26 on page 52.
The base unit beeps.

The memory reception alert of feature #44 is ON (page 53), and the unit has
a document in memory. Press

STOP
}
to stop the beeps, then see the
displayed message instructions to solve the problem.
The speakerphone is not
working.

Use the speakerphone in a quiet room.

If you have difficulty hearing the other party, adjust the volume.
I cannot page a cordless
handset or base unit.

The cordless handset is too far from the base unit.
The unit does not display the
caller’s name and/or
telephone number.

You need to subscribe to a Caller ID service.
L
Other telephone equipment may be interfering with your phone. Disconnect
it and try again.
L
Other electrical appliances connected to the same outlet may be interfering
with the Caller ID information.
L
Telephone line noise may be affecting the Caller ID information.
L
The caller requested not to send his/her information (page 28).
L
If a call is being transferred to you, the caller information will not be
displayed.
The display exits the Caller ID
List while viewing caller
information.

Do not pause for over 1 minute on the cordless handset or 3 minutes on the
base unit while viewing.

The cordless handset does
not work.

Make sure that the battery is installed correctly (page 16) and fully charge
it (page 18).

Clean the charge contacts and charge again (page 18).

Turn the cordless handset power OFF, then ON (page 18).

Check that the power cord is connected properly.
L
The cordless handset has not been registered to the base unit. Register the
cordless handset (page 59).
L
Re-install the batteries (page 16) and fully charge them.
The cordless handset display
is blank.
L
The cordless handset is in screen saver mode (page 18). Press
{ih}
to
activate the cordless handset display again.
L
The cordless handset is not turned ON. Turn the power ON (page 18).
