When it goes from on to off, the COM.1 sent buffer is

It should be turned off after the buffer has been cleared.
Y12 COM.2 Sending directive Data set in the sent buffer is sent when this goes on.
When it goes from on to off, the COM.2 sent buffer is

Y13 Received buffer clear The received buffer is cleared when this goes on. ( * Note 2)
It should be turned off after the buffer has been cleared.
Y14 to Y1C Not used This should always be off.
Y1D Software reset ( * Note 3) The software reset begins when this is turned on. The I/O
contacts and ERROR LED go off. (This takes approximately
100 ms.)
It should be turned off immediately after the software reset
has begun (XE has gone from on to off.)
Y1E Not used This should always be off.
Y1F Not used This should always be off.
Notes
1) The sent buffer should not be cleared until the sending has
been completed (X0 or X2 has gone on).
2) The received buffer should not be cleared until the data has
been read from the shared memory.
3) When a software reset is carried out, the I/O contacts (error
flags) and ERROR LED go off. The transmission format
changes to the value written to addresses 1003 and 1004 of the
shared memory.
