2. RECEIPT OF EQUIPMENT
The Kleen-Change 100 series and
CMP Kleen-Change 100 series filter assemblies are
individually packed and supplied separately.
Unpack carefully and inspect for damage that may
have occurred during transit. Damaged items must
not be used.
3. STORAGE
Store the filter assembly in clean, dry
conditions, out of direct sunlight (temperature
maximum 30 °C / 86 °F and minimum 5 °C / 41 °F)
and whenever practical in the box as delivered.
DO NOT remove from its protective bag until ready
for use. Only remove protective caps immediately
before installation.
In assemblies with more than one filter tube DO
NOT remove the 9 mm wide polypropylene strap
attached to the lower end of the filter tubes. It is
provided to minimise damage which may occur if
the filter assemblies are mishandled.
4. HANDLING THE FILTER ASSEMBLY
Lift filter assembly by supporting both ends of the
head section.
DO NOT lift filter assembly by means of the fittings,
lift just below elbow as near to head as possible.
DO NOT lift multi-headed filter assembly
by means of the filter tubes.
Determine the weight of the used filter assembly
before lifting to establish number of personnel
required.

5. STATIC ELECTRICITY
For guidance, low conductivity liquids may be
considered as those with a conductivity below
50 pS/m. Aqueous solutions have a conductivity
above 50 pS/m but care should always be taken to
prevent the likelihood of static damage.
When static charge is accumulated, both
the filter capsule and the liquid leaving the assembly
will retain the charge. Pipework upstream and
downstream of the filter assembly should be of
conductive
materials and grounded.
Care should be taken when removing the filter
capsule from pipework to avoid static discharge. It
may be necessary to allow
time for the static charge to dissipate
before removal.
Internal static discharge within a charged filter
capsule may result in damage to the filter media.
