RSQ 450 series
The fuel tank(s) are stowed underneath the aft bench of the rescue boat and are lashed
down securely by means of straps.
A fuel hose with integrated hand pump is included in the scope of supply.
The RSQ 450 series rescue boat can be equipped with outboard engines of different
brand names and outputs up to 40 horsepower (hp).
In most common cases the RSQ 450 series rescue boat is supplied with a 2-stroke engine
of 25 hp.
PALFINGER BOATS has exclusive rights for supplying Selva Marine SOLAS approved
outboard engines however, other outboard manufacturers can be supplied as well.
2.5.
Rescue boat fittings (permanently fitted)
2.5.1.
Stowage facilities
A stowage compartment is located underneath the bow cover of the rescue boat. In this
compartment all loose rescue boat equipment can be stowed.
A second stowage facility can be found underneath the aft bench. This is used for
stowage of the fuel tank.
2.5.2.
Hoisting facilities
The rescue boat is equipped with a certified 4-point lifting sling suspension. The slings
are made from high quality nylon straps.
The lifting lugs are made of stainless steel 316 and are electric polished.
2.5.3.
Painter facilities
The RSQ 450 series rescue boat is fitted with a painter device on top of its bow cover.
This painter device is of sufficient strength to withstand the towing forces when the
rescue boat is being towed by the mother ship making headway at speeds up to 5 knots
in calm water.
The painter device consists of a stainless steel painter hook which can be released at all
times from inside the rescue boat by means of a pull cord.
2.5.4.
Retro-reflective materials
The RSQ 450 series rescue boats are fitted with self-adhesive seawater resistant retro-
reflective materials in order to detect the rescue boat from all directions, even if it has
been capsized.
2.5.5.
Rescue boat markings/lettering
The rescue boat is provided with the following markings/lettering:
Number of persons for which the rescue boat is approved
Port of registry
Call sign
Due to logistic reasons, the above mentioned markings/lettering will be applied only in
case they have been confirmed to us in writing not later than three weeks before the
agreed delivery date. Information received after this date shall not be processed
anymore.
2.5.6.
Towing facilities
Two bollards of sufficient strength to marshal or to tow life rafts are fitted permanently at
the stern of the rescue boat. The bollards from the 450 A are made of aluminium. The
bollards form the 450 G are made of electric polished stainless steel 316.
