Ejected embers/fragments
WARNING
Welding generates ejected embers, which can cause injury. Planishing slag
can result in ejected material or fragments.
•
Always use protective workwear: Approved safety goggles or visor, welder’s
helmet and earplugs to prevent embers from coming into contact with hair and
ears.
Electromagnetic fields
WARNING
Electromagnetic fields can affect electrical and electronic equipment, e.g.
pacemakers.
•
Contact your doctor before you use the arc welder or cutting equipment.
•
Keep people with pacemakers at a safe distance in the area where welding shall
take place.
•
Never allow the cable to wind around the body when welding.
Containers with shielding gas can explode
WARNING
Pressurised cylinders can explode if damaged, so exercise extreme
caution.
•
Do not expose the cylinders to high heat, embers, sparks or open
flames, mechanical effects or welding arcs.
•
Do not touch the cylinder with the MIG gun.
•
Do not weld on the cylinder.
•
Always secure the cylinder in an upright position in a trolley or in a secure
stationary position.
•
Always use the correct regulators, gas hoses and fittings.
•
Never look in the valve when it is opened.
•
Always use cylinder caps when it is possible
