Replacing the trimmer cord
The trimmer cord must be replaced
when it has worn down to half its length.
Recommended thickness is 4 mm.
Always replace the cord on both sides.
1.
Stop the engine and wait for moving
parts to stop. Disconnect the spark
plug lead.
2.
Remove the old cord from the
holder.
3.
Cut off 548 mm of cord.
4.
Insert the new cord through the
holder as shown in Figure 13.
5.
Take the ends and cross them over
the holder and insert the ends
through the centre hole as shown in
Figure 14.
6.
Check that the ends are the same
length – see Figure 15.
7.
Follow the same procedure on the
other side.
