Servicing, troubleshooting and repair
Even if the equipment is thoroughly maintained, situations may unfortunately arise
where the earth auger needs repairing. These repairs will usually be small and easy to
carry out by following the procedures in the troubleshooting section. The
troubleshooting section contains the most common problems and solutions. For
major problems that are not included in the section, please refer to the distributor or
authorised workshop.

Motor will not start
Switch is at OFF
Turn it to ON
The spark plug lead has
been removed
Replace it
Lack of fuel
Replenish with fuel
The spark plug is wet,
defective or the electrode
distance is incorrect
Clean, replace or adjust
The gas handle does not
push fully up
Hold the gas handle on full
gas while pulling the start
cord
The fuel hose is not sitting
correctly at the bottom of
the tank
Push it down into the tank
Motor runs unevenly
Dirty air filter
Clean or replace
Choke partially activated
Switch off the choke
Carburettor is incorrectly
adjusted
Contact distributor
Motor is difficult to start
Old fuel
Replace fuel. Remember to
use a fuel stabiliser for
prolonged storage
Spark plug lead is loose
Tighten it
Dirty carburettor
Clean the carburettor, use a
fuel stabiliser, new fuel
container
The gas handle does not
push fully up
Press the primer bubble
three times. Hold the gas
handle on full gas while
pulling the start cord
Motor is lacking or has too
little power
Clogged fuel tank
Remove it and clean
Clogged air filter
Clean or replace
Carburettor incorrectly
adjusted or defective
Contact distributor
