Do not use the earth auger on ice.
•
To fit the drill to the earth auger, the drill is placed against the hole of the shaft
extension and the drill is secured with a bolt and locking nut using the accompanying
adjustable spanner.
Starting and stopping the motor
•
Set the gas handle to approx. half gas.
•
Press the primer bubble several times (about 5) until the return hose is filled with
petrol.
•
Close the choke and start the motor. When the motor is running, gradually move the
choke to the open position.
•
Take hold of the recoil starter and pull.
•
When the motor has started, turn off the gas handle and the motor will run with a low
idling speed.
•
When the motor is started it must run at a low speed for approx. a minute to warm up
the motor. When the motor is warm it will run evenly.
•
When the earth auger is to be stopped, release the gas handle and allow the motor to
idle.
•
Press the stop button and the motor will stop.
Danger
Never use the earth auger without all safety screens securely fitted.
The start cord can give an unexpected tug towards the earth auger. Follow the
instructions to avoid accidents.
Never leave the earth auger unattended with the motor running. Always turn it off
after use.
Never transport the earth auger between holes with the motor running.
Warning
Ensure that you are standing firmly before pulling the start cord.
Do not allow the motor to run at maximum speed with no load as this can destroy
vital motor components.
