Starting the compactor
1.
Turn the switch clockwise to the “I” (ON) position as
shown in Figure 3.

Open the fuel cock (Fig. 4).

Set the throttle lever at between
⅓
and ½ for the
highest speed.

Switch off the choke lever. If the engine is already hot
or the ambient temperature is high, open the choke
lever halfway or all the way. If the engine is cold or if
the ambient temperature is low, switch off the choke
lever completely (Fig. 6).
5.
Carefully pull the recoil starter handle until you feel
resistance. Let the cord rewind to its starting position
and then pull hard on the cord but do not extend to
its full length. When the engine has started, let the
cord rewind while holding onto the handle (Fig. 7).
CAUTION
Do not pull the starter cord to its full length and
never let go of the handle but let the cord slowly
rewind.
6.
Once the engine has started, always let it warm up by
running for 2–3 minutes. It is essential to warm up the
engine in wintry weather.
