CHAPTER 7: FAULTS

The PBM753 card is able to recognize 4 types of faults :

7.1. BATTERY DISCONNECTION UNDER CHARGE

Disconnection of battery during a charging process

might be dangerous

.

If  nevertheless  battery  is  disconnected  from  charger  during  a  charging  process,  the  charging  process  will  be
temporarily stopped

and a fault will be signalled by means of the yellow L2 LED blinking.

On connecting again a battery to the charger, the card will reset and start a new charging process.
All information concerning the previous charging times go lost.

7.2 CURRENT DELIVERY DURING AN OFF STAGE

During  an  inactive  (not  charging)  stage  the  battery  charger  detects  current  presence  towards  battery,  and
signals it by means of the

red L4 LED blinking

slowly. This signals a defect either of the relay or contactor.

7.3 FAILURE TO DELIVER CURRENT DURING AN ON STAGE

During an active (charge) stage the battery charger detects current failure towards battery and signals it by
means of the

red L4 LED blinking

 quickly.

7.4 SAFETY TIMER

If the safety timer operates during the initial charge, the battery charger stops the charging process and signals
it by means of

the red L4 LED which lights up

 constant.

To exit from all fault conditions, the battery charger needs resetting: disconnect the charger from the
power supply and connect it again to it.
