CAUTION!

  :

The card checks the setting of the jumpers when it turns on, namely when the charger is

powered by mains.  To make modified settings effective with the board powered, the charger must be
disconnected and then reconnected.

CHAPTER 6:  DESCRIPTION OF THE CHARGE

Once all connections (mains and battery) have been performed, the electronic card PBM 753 makes a

lighting

test of all the leds

. After this test just the

L1

green led

 is on “

BATTERY CONNECTED

” and eventually the

LED

L5

if also the equalizing charge is set.

The charging characteristic shown above is made up of the following stages:

Initial  charge:

performed  with  decreasing  current  until  a  threshold  is  reached,  corresponding  to  the  gassing

voltage set by means of the

VGAS

 trimmer (standard value is 2.4V/cell).

The initial charge may last

9 or 11 hours max

(depending on the setting of the CI11H jumper).

If the initial charge is not completed within that time, the safety timer operates and the

red L4 LED

 lights up to

signal a FAULT.

Final charge:

 begins when the

yellow L2 LED

(corresponding to a threshold equal to 2,4V/cell) lights up.

It  is  performed  with  decreasing  current  and  goes  on  time-controlled (3 hours as default setting; 4 hours when
the

CF4h

 jumper is inserted).
