RDX
Storage System
RDX is a removable disk-based technology providing lightning fast backup and restore. The RDX
product family is designed to deliver cost efficiency to small and medium-sized businesses (SMB)
with growing data storage needs. It's easy to store data offsite—simply remove the pocket-sized
disk media and carry to another location.
Supporting a wide range of applications, the RDX system is available with different host
interfaces and a variety of media capacities that are fully interchangeable and compatible with all
our RDX systems.
A complete RDX system is composed of the drive bay (Drive) that holds the SATA III drive and the
recording media in a physical carrier (media). The media is recognized by the Drive and its media
is recognized as a volume on a host system.

The server-class drive combines the benefits of tape—reliability, portability, archive life, and low
cost—with the performance, speed, and random access of hard disk technology.

The SATA III interface makes system integration easy, provides speed of up to 330 MB/s and
combines the benefits of both tape and disk, and offers hardware encryption and powerful
deduplication backups.
