Advantages:
– Efficient loading of the buffer storage cylinder.
– Increased boiler efficiency by a reduced number of
burner starts.
– Mixing of the buffer storage cylinder sections is
avoided.
– Different temperature zones for the potable water
and heating water section.
– Minimum heat loss of the buffer storage cylinder
due to different loading zones.
– Strong temperature drops of the potable water are
avoided (otherwise large sections of the storage
cylinders would be mixed during loading via the heat
generator and the temperature level would drop
strongly).
– Increased comfort owing to a constant potable
water temperature.
6 Installation
WARNING
!
Danger from excessive pressure and an
uncontrolled escape of hot water!
Work on the heating system during operation is
dangerous. Pressurized heating water can be very
hot and an uncontrolled escape can lead to
severe injuries.
– Before starting work, make sure that the
system is depressurized and has cooled down
to ambient temperature.
– Before starting installation, deactivate the
system and drain the heating water from the
storage cylinder.
WARNING
!
Risk of injury from hot plant components!
Valves and plant components may get very hot
during operation. An unprotected contact can lead
to injuries.
– Wear safety goggles and gloves when draining
the storage cylinder.
CAUTION
!
– Do not use any greasing agents or oils for the
installation, as these can destroy the seals. Any
dirt particles or grease or oil residues must
be flushed out before the extension set is
installed.
– When choosing the operating fluid, the latest
technical development has to be considered
(e.g. VDI 2035).
– Please protect against external forces (e.g.
impacts, vibrations etc.).
NOTICE
When using a heat generator without integrated
circulation pump, an external pump has to be
installed.
NOTE
Gravity circulation may occur if the circulation
pump is switched off. Take preventive measures,
e.g. installation of check valves.
Start with processing step (1) when upgrading a
system with the extension set.
Start with processing step (2) in case of a new
installation before filling of the storage cylinder.
1. Drain the heating water from the storage cylinder.

2. Connect the heat generator to the valves and the
storage cylinder (see illustr. 5.3)
NOTICE
Risk of mixing up!
Mixing up of the diverting and mixing valve will
lead to malfunctions.
After having connected the extension set to the
storage cylinder and heat generator, check all
installation points for leaks.
3. Fill the storage cylinder up with water.
4. Check all installation points for leaks. If water
escapes, take preventive measures.
Hydronic installation has been completed now and the
extension set is ready for electrical connection.
