5.3 Hydronic switching operations
The collector housings of the OKP collectors can be
mounted in series side by side with a distance of 135
mm – 145 mm (see illustr. 26). When installing several
collectors, twelve OKP 10 or six OKP 20 (see illustr. 31)
with a total of 120 tubes can be connected in series.
Installations with more than 120 tubes have to be con-
nected according to the Tichelmann system - the solar
circuit is divided into several risers with 120 tubes each.
As each individual riser has the same pipework resist-
ance, identical flow rates are achieved. The temperature
sensor must always be installed in the hot supply (VL) on
the left hand side of the collector OKP 10 and OKP 20
(see illustr. 28).
