You can interrupt the toasting cycle any time by turning the
knob to Cancel

.

The required browning level depends on your preference
and the type and freshness of the item being toasted

.

 For

example

:

 a short toasting time

(

low browning level

)

 is

sufficient for toasting raisin bread and fine white bread

,

 but for

toasting rye bread

,

you must select a higher browning level to

get a similar result

.

Smaller bread slices may be removed easier by lifting the
lever all the way

.

Try to make an even and smooth cut

.

 Use a sharp bread knife

for cutting

.

Remove crumbs especially when crisping up

halved rolls

.

When toasting two slices at a time

,

 place one slice in the

center of each slot

.

The slices should be of equal size and

freshness to ensure even toasting

.

When toasting one slice of bread

,

place the slice in the center

of either bread slot

.

Make sure the removable crumb tray is inserted correctly

.

Cut bread into slices of even thickness and appropriate size

.

 Try

to get a smooth cut and remove the crumbs

.

Place the bread slices into the slots

.

Set your desired toast darkness using the control knob

.

 You can

select from six toast darkness levels

:

 Level

1

 is very light

,

 and

Level

6

 is very dark

.

 For the first use

,

 it is recommended to select

a medium browning level

(

example

:

3

 or

4).

Press down the lever until it locks into place

.

When the bread has been toasted to the set darkness

,

 it is

ejected

.

 The toaster shuts off automatically

.

Note

:

The lever will not engage unless the toaster is plugged into

the wall outlet
