9.2 Reading Non-contact IC Card
Like magnetic card, the card data has variable length.
For this variable data, "Card data start position" and "Number of card data characters" can be specified by the
ROM soft switch.
[Card data start position]
Address:
00F0H
Function: Which position of the card data to be sent to the host system is separated should be specified
with each card data return command. In this case, the position of the top character is defined as 1
and the start code is not treated as a character.
Range:
1 to 48(decimal)
(1 when 0 is specified)
[Number of card data characters]
Address:
00F1H
Function: How many characters of the data to be sent to the host system should be separated is specified
with each card data return command.
Range:
1 to 48 (decimal)
(1 when 0 is specified)
Example:
When card data is stored as [STX] 0 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 ...,
if card data start position is "3" and the number of card data characters is "4", the card data to be
sent to the host system will be "2 3 4 5".
10. TROUBLESHOOTING
10.1 Power Cannot be Turned On
Check the following items.
• Does input power spec. meet the specifications of this instrument?

• Is there any problem in the installation environment of this instrument? .................. Refer to "4.1 Installation".
• Is the power line specified by OVAL used? ........................................................................Refer to "4.2 Wiring".
• Is the power line connected correctly? .............................................................................Refer to "4.2 Wiring".
• Is power supply with large voltage variation used? ...........................................................Refer to "4.2 Wiring".
In addition, damage to power supply unit, etc. are assumed.
NOTE : If power supply is damaged or power is not supplied even after measures for the above items have
been taken, supplying power must not be avoided for the purpose of safety.
10.2 Card Cannot be Read (Frequent occurrence of "Card read error")
(1) In case of IC card
Check the following items.
• Is there any problem in the installation place of this instrument? ............................. Refer to "4.1 Installation".
• Is it the timing to read the IC card? .........................................................................Refer to "6.1 Outline Flow".
• Is the IC card touched correctly?
• Is any damage, dirt, or the like present on the IC card?
In addition to the above problems, damage to the IC card reader unit, connector cable, etc. are assumed.
