3 Intended use
3.1 Indications for use
The brace is intended
exclusively
for orthotic treatment of the lumbar spine and
exclusively
for
contact with intact skin.
The brace must be used in accordance with the indications.
3.2 Indications
•
Stable vertebral body fractures of the lumbar spine (with no neurological deficits)
•
Post-operative stabilization of the lumbar spine (e.g. after spondylodesis)
•
Post-operative lordosis reduction of the lumbar spine (e.g. after intervertebral disc surgery)
•
Facet joint syndrome of the lumbar spine
•
Lumbar spinal canal stenosis
•
Symptomatic stenosis of the lumbar intervertebral foramina
•
Degenerative instability of the lumbar spine
•
Spondylolysis of the lumbar spine
•
Spondylolisthesis of the lumbar spine
•
Herniated disc in the lumbar spine (protrusion and prolapse without neurological failures)
The indication must be determined by the physician.
3.3 Contraindications
3.3.1 Absolute Contraindications
None known.
3.3.2 Relative Contraindications
The following accompanying symptoms require consultation with a physician: skin dis
eases/injuries, inflammation, raised scars with swelling, reddening, and warming in the area
where the device is fitted, lymphatic congestion – including unclear soft tissue swelling distal to
the device, and sensory disorders in area of the torso.
3.4 Mechanism of Action
Through the removal of individual elements, the bridging brace with mobilizing function enables a
systematic lumbar spine rehabilitation process in 3 stages.
