Please read the following directions carefully and pay special atten-
tion to the safety information!
1. Description
1.1 Intended Use
Art. 4030 Manu Direxa Basic and art. 4032 Manu Direxa Basic W&T are to
be used exclusively for orthotic treatment of the wrist respectively wrist and
thumb. They are exclusively suitable for contact with healthy skin.
1.2 Indications and Effects
4030:
Acute and chronic wrist irritations, sprains, tendinopathies, osteoar-
thritis, carpal tunnel syndrome, weakness and pain in the wrist.
4032:
Acute and chronic wrist irritations, sprains, tendinopathies, Quer-
vain’s disease, osteoarthritis, rhizarthritis, carpal tunnel syndrome, weak-
ness and pain in the wrist and thumb.
The orthosis acts stabilizing and pain relieving.
Indication must be determined by the physician.
1.3 Contraindication
1.3.1 Relative contraindication
In case of the following indications, consultation with a physician is required:
Skin diseases/ -injuries, inflammatory symptoms, prominent scars that are
swollen, reddened and feel excessively warm when touched; Lymphatic flow
disorders, including unclear soft tissue swelling distant to the body area to
which the appliance will be applied; Sensory and circulatory disorders of
the arm and wrist.
1.4 Safety Instructions
INFORMATION
The patient is to be instructed in the proper use/care of the product.
The initial fitting and application of the product must only be car-
ried out by trained, qualified personnel. The daily duration of use
and period of application are dependent on medical indication by
the physician.
CAUTION
Risk of injury as a result of improper use.
The product is de-
signed for use on one patient only. Consult a physician immediately if
you experience unusual changes (such as increase in pain).
Improper use changes to the product are not permitted.
An orthosis/support applied too tightly to the body can cause local
pressure and, in some cases, even restrict adjacent vessels or nerves.
NOTICE
Damage due to incorrect environmental conditions.
This prod-
uct is not flame-resistant. Keep the product away from flames or
other heat sources.The product should not come into contact with
grease or acidic agents, unguents and lotions.
2. Handling
2.1 Size Selection of the product
The orthosis size is selected according to the wrist circumference.
2.2 Adapting and Application of the product
The initial fitting and application of Manu Direxa Basic and Manu Direxa
Basic W&T may only be carried out only by qualified personnel.
1) Place the support on the palm side of the wrist.
2) Close the Velcro straps individually, start with the outermost straps, and
complete the closure by closing the middle strap.
3) Make sure the brace is firmly fitted without too much pressure.
4) If necessary adapt the splint.
2.3 Instruction for use and care
Material:
Lycra®, rayon, polyester, nylon. Metal splint.
The product is not flameproof; avoid temperature above 120°/248°F.
Dis-
posal after use:
Combustible material.
Cleaning:
Machine wash 40° Celsius, with a standard mild detergent, air-
dry.
Note: Residues of cleaning agents may cause skin irritations and wear of
material.
To extend the products life-time: close all Velcro® when not using the prod-
uct.
3. Further Usage Restriction Clause
The product has been designed for use on only one patient. The daily
duration of use and period of application are dependent on the medical
indication.
Latex Safe: To our knowledge this products does not contain any natural
rubber.
4. Liability
The manufacturer’s warranty applies only if the device has been used under
the conditions and for the purposes described. The manufacturer recom-
mends that the device be used and maintained according to the instructions
for use.
5. CE Conformity
This device meets the requirements of the 93 / 42 / EEC guidelines for
medical devices. This device has been classified as a class I device ac-
cording to the classification criteria outlined in appendix IX of the guidelines.
The declaration of conformity was therefore created by Otto Bock with sole
responsibility according to appendix VII of the guidelines.

1.1 Verwendungszweck
Art. 4030 Manu Direxa Basic und Art. 4032 Manu Direxa Basic W&T sind
ausschließlich für die orthetische Versorgung des Handgelenkes bzw. von
Handgelenk und Daumen einzusetzen. Die Orthesen sind nur für den Kon-
takt mit intakter Haut bestimmt.
1.2 Indikation und Wirkungsweise
4030:
Akute und chronische Reizzustände im Handgelenkbereich, Dis-
torsionen, Tendopathien, Arthrose, Karpaltunnelsyndrom, Schwäche und
Schmerzen im Handgelenk.
4032:
Akute und chronische Reizzustände im Handgelenkbereich, Distor-
sionen, Tendopathien, Quervain’sche Erkrankung, Arthrose, Rhiz arthrose,
Karpaltunnelsyndrom, Schwäche und Schmerzen in Handgelenk und Dau-
men.
Die Orthese wirkt stabilisierend und schmerzlindernd.
Die Indikation wird vom Arzt gestellt.
1.3 Kontraindikation
1.3.1 Relative Kontraindikation
Bei nachfolgenden Indikationen ist eine Rücksprache mit dem Arzt erfor-
derlich: Hauterkrankungen/-verletzungen, entzündliche Erscheinungen,
aufgeworfene Narben mit Schwellung, Rötung und Überwärmung; Lym-
phabflussstörungen – auch unklare Weichteilschwellungen körperfern des
Hilfsmittels; Empfindungs- und Durchblutungsstörungen an Arm und Ge-
lenk.
1.4 Sicherheitshinweise
INFORMATION
Der Patient ist in die ordnungsgemäße Handhabung/Pflege des
Produktes einzuweisen.
Die erstmalige Anpassung und Anwendung des Produktes darf nur
durch geschultes Fachpersonal erfolgen. Die tägliche Tragedauer
und der Anwendungszeitraum richten sich nach der medizinischen
Indikation durch den Arzt.
VORSICHT
Verletzungsgefahr durch unsachgemäße Anwendung.
Das
Produkt ist nur zum Gebrauch an einem Patienten bestimmt. Bei au-
ßergewöhnlichen Veränderungen (z.B. Zunahme der Beschwerden)
ist umgehend ein Arzt aufzusuchen.
Eine unsachgemäße Verwendung des Produkts ist nicht zulässig.
Eine zu fest anliegende Orthese/Bandage kann lokale Druck-
erscheinungen und ggf. auch Einengungen an durchlaufenden Blut-
gefäßen/Nerven verursachen.
HINWEIS
Schäden durch falsche Umgebungsbedingungen.
Das Pro-
dukt ist nicht flammsicher. Es darf nicht in der Nähe von offenem
Feuer oder anderen Hitzequellen getragen werden.
Das Produkt sollte nicht mit fett- oder säurehaltigen Mitteln, Salben
oder Lotionen in Berührung kommen.
2 Handhabung
2.1 Auswahl der Orthesengröße
Die Auswahl der Orthesengröße erfolgt mittels des Handgelenkumfangs.
2.2 Anpassen und Anlegen des Produkts
Die erstmalige Anpassung und Anwendung der Orthesen Manu Direxa Ba-
sic und Manu Direxa Basic W&T darf nur durch geschultes Fachpersonal
erfolgen.
1) Legen Sie die Bandage an der Handinnenseite des Handgelenkes an.
2) Schließen Sie die Klettbänder einzeln. Beginnen Sie dabei mit dem äu-
ßersten Klettband, und schließen Sie zuletzt das mittlere Band.
3) Vergewissern Sie sich, dass die Bandage fest, jedoch ohne zu viel Druck
sitzt.
4) Passen Sie bei Bedarf die Schiene an.
2.3 Gebrauchs- und Pflegehinweise
Material:
Lycra®, Viskose, Polyester, Nylon. Metallschiene.
Das Produkt ist nicht flammsicher; Temperaturen über 120° vermeiden.
Nach Verwendung zu entsorgen:
Brennbares Material.
Reinigung:
Bei 40° mit handelsüblichem Feinwaschmittel in der Waschma-
schine waschen, an der Luft trocknen lassen.
Hinweis: Waschmittelrückstände können Hautirritationen und Materialver-
schleiß hervorrufen.
Zur Verlängerung der Produktlebensdauer: alle Velcro®-Klettbänder schlie-
ßen, wenn das Produkt nicht in Gebrauch ist.
3 Weitere Nutzungseinschränkungen
Das Produkt ist nur zum Gebrauch an einem Patienten bestimmt. Die
tägliche Tragedauer und der Anwendungszeitraum richten sich nach der
medizinischen Indikation.
Latex Safe: Das Produkt enthält nach unserer Kenntnis kein Naturkaut-
schuk.
4. Haftung
Der Hersteller haftet nur, wenn das Produkt unter den vorgegebenen Bedin-
gungen und zu den vorgegebenen Zwecken eingesetzt wird. Der Hersteller
empfiehlt, das Produkt sachgemäß zu handhaben und entsprechend der
Anleitung zu pflegen.
5. CE-Konformität
Das Produkt erfüllt die Anforderungen der Richtlinie 93 / 42 / EWG für Me-
dizinprodukte. Aufgrund der Klassifizierungskriterien für Medizinprodukte
nach Anhang IX der Richtlinie wurde das Produkt in die Klasse I eingestuft.
Die Konformitätserklärung wurde deshalb von Otto Bock in alleiniger Ver-
antwortung gemäß Anhang VII der Richtlinie erstellt.

1.3 Kontraindikation
1.3.1 Relativ kontraindikation
Om någon av följande problem uppstår, kontakta läkare: Hudsjukdom/ska-
da, inflammations symptom, prominenta ärr som är svullna, röda eller känns
varma vid beröring; Lymfsystemsstörning, men även oklar mjukdelssvullnad
nedom den kroppsdel där ortosen är applicerad; känselnedsättningar eller
cirkulatoriska störningar i arm och handled.
1.4 Säkerhetsinstruktioner
INFORMATION
Patienten ska bli instruerad i korrekt användning av produkten.
Den initiala utprovningen och anpassningen måste genomföras av
tränad, kvalificerad personal. Den dagliga användningstiden är bero-
ende av den medicinska indikationen, fastställd av läkare.
