IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS 

When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always 

be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and/or injury to persons 

including the following:
1.  Read all instructions before using this product.

2.  To protect against electric shock, do not place or immerse cord, plugs, or 

blender motor in water or other liquid.

3.  This appliance is not intended for use by children or by persons with 

reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and 

knowledge. Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used near 

children. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with 

the appliance. Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children.

4.  Never leave appliance unattended when in use.

5.  Turn the appliance OFF, then unplug from outlet when not in use, before 

putting on or taking off parts and before cleaning. Allow to cool before putting 

on or taking off parts, and before cleaning. To unplug, grasp the plug and pull 

from the outlet. Never pull from the power cord.

6.  Flashing light indicates ready to operate (models with stand-by mode). Avoid 

any contact with blades or moveable parts.

7.  Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug or after the 

appliance malfunctions, or has been damaged in any manner. Do not attempt 

to replace or splice a damaged cord. Return appliance to the manufacturer 

(see warranty) for examination, repair or adjustment.

8.  For appliances with markings on plug blade: This appliance has important 

markings on the plug blade. The attachment plug or entire cordset (if plug is 

molded onto cord) is not suitable for replacement. If damaged, the appliance 

shall be replaced.

9.  The use of attachments not recommended or sold by the manufacturer may 

cause fire, electric shock or injury.

10. Do not use outdoors or for commercial purposes.

11. Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter, or touch hot surfaces, 

including the stove.

12. Blades are sharp. Handle carefully.

13. When mixing liquids, especially hot liquids, use a tall container or make small 

quantities at a time to reduce spillage.

14. Keep hands, hair, clothing and utensils out of the container while blending 

to prevent the possibility of severe injury to persons or damage to the unit. A 

scraper may be used but must be used only when the unit is not running.

15. Do not use appliance for other than intended use. Misuse can cause injuries. 

Always use appliance on a dry, stable, level surface.

16. After each operation, allow the hand blender to cool for 3 minutes before 

using it again.

17. Do not process food containing hard objects that cannot be safely broken up 

by the blade.

18. To protect against fire, do not operate the appliance in the presence of 

explosive and/or flammable fumes.

19. This appliance should not be used in the immediate vicinity of water, such as 

bathtub, washbowls, swimming pool, etc., where the likelihood of immersion 

or splashing could occur.

20. Do not place appliance on or near a hot burner or in a heated oven.

21. Do not use over a stove or other heat source. When mixing soups or other 

hot foods or liquids, remove the saucepan from the heat source before using 

the hand blender.

22. This immersion blender is not intended to chop ice. Add ice to beverage after 

mixing. 

For appliances with food chopper attachments:

23. Keep hands and utensils away from the cutting blade while chopping food to 

reduce the risk of severe injury to persons or damage to the food chopper. A 

scraper may be used but only when the food chopper is not running.

24. Blades are sharp. Handle carefully, especially when removing the blades 

from the container, emptying the container and during cleaning.

25. To reduce the risk of injury, never attach cutting blade on blender motor 

without first putting bowl properly in place.

26. Be certain cover is securely locked in place before operating appliance.

27. Always wait until all moving parts have stopped before opening the bowl. 

28.  Do not operate this appliance when empty. 

29.  Always check bowl for presence of foreign objects before operating the 

appliance.

30.  Do not use bowl for food storage, unless otherwise indicated in the operating 

instructions.

31.  If mixing cup or bowl is chipped, cracked or damaged in any way, discontinue 

use of product.

32.  If blades appear to be damaged, discard food and discontinue use of product.
For appliances with an electric knife:

33.  To protect against electric shock, do not operate knife in water or under 

running water.

34.  Avoid any contact with blades or moveable parts. Keep hair, loose clothing, 

jewelry and similar items away from blades, moving parts and blade insert 

opening. If anything is jammed in the blades, any other moving parts or blade 

insert opening, turn off and unplug appliance before attempting to clear the 

jam.

35.  Blades are sharp. Handle carefully. Always handle blades with hand away 

from cutting edge. Always store blades with cutting edge away from you.

36.  Carefully route the power supply cord to avoid damage from the knife blades 

while cutting.

37.  Do not use with an extension cord.

38.  For models with dual blades: This appliance uses a dual blade design. 

Always operate appliance with both blades installed. Do not operate 

appliance with a single blade.
