IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock and/or injury to persons, basic safety precautions
should always be followed when using electrical appliance, including the following:
1. READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USING.
2. DO NOT touch the appliance’s hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs and the lid or cover
while brewing. Scalding may occur if the lid is removed during brewing cycles.
3. To protect against the risk of electrical shock, DO NOT immerse cord, plug or motor
assembly in water or other liquids.
4. Unplug unit when not in use, before putting on or taking off parts, and before cleaning.
5. Avoid contact with moving parts.
6. DO NOT operate any appliance that appears to malfunction in any manner or has a
damaged plug or cord.
7. DO NOT use outdoors.
8. DO NOT let the cord hang over the edge of a table or counter.
9. DO NOT let the cord get in contact hot surfaces, including the stove.
10. DO NOT place it on or near a hot gas or electrical burner or in a heated oven.
11. DO NOT operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug or after the unit
malfunctions or is damaged in any manner. To avoid the risk of electric shock,
DO NOT disassemble the appliance. Take it to an Authorized Oster
TM
Service Center for
examination and repair. Incorrect re-assembly can cause a risk of electric shock when the
appliance is used.
12. If the power cord is damaged, it must only be replaced by the manufacturer, its service
agent or similarly qualified personnel in order to avoid a hazard.
13. Use only the stand provided.
14. If appliance was overfilled, boiling water may be ejected.
15. DO NOT use appliance for other than intended use.
16. DO NOT remove mixing container from motor base while motor is running.
17. Keep hands and utensils out of the container while mixing to reduce the risk of severe
injury to persons or damage to the machine.
18. Always operate with the lid in place.
19. Be sure to turn the switch off after each use.
20. To disconnect, grip plug and pull from wall outlet. Never pull on cord.
21. Never leave the house while the appliance is on.
22. A short cord is provided to reduce the hazards resulting from becoming entangled in or
tripping over a longer cord.
23. After running the motor continuously for one cycle, wait at least five minutes before
running another cycle.
24. This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced
physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless
they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a
person responsible for their safety. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do
not play with the appliance.
25. Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children, or
incapacitated individuals.
