IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS

When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed to

reduce the risk of fire, electric shock and/or injury to persons, including the following:
1.  READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USING THE APPLIANCE.
2.  DO NOT touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs.
3.  To protect against electric shock, DO NOT immerse cord, plugs or appliance in water 

or other liquids.

4.  Turn control knob to the off position “ ” and unplug from electrical outlet when not in 

use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before putting on or taking off parts and before 

cleaning the appliance.

5.  DO NOT operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug or after the appliance 

malfunctions or has been damaged in any manner. Return this appliance only to the 

nearest Authorized Oster

Service Center for examination, repair or adjustment.

6.  The use of accessory attachments not recommended by the manufacturer may cause 

hazards or injuries.

7.  DO NOT use outdoors or for commercial purposes.
8.  DO NOT let cord hang over edge of table or countertop or touch hot surfaces.
9.  DO NOT place this appliance on or near a hot gas or electric burner or in a heated oven.
10. DO NOT use appliance for anything other than its intended use.
11. Use on a hard, flat level surface only, to avoid interruption of air flow underneath  

the appliance.

12. Always be sure water reservoir cap is tightened securely before turning appliance on.
13. DO NOT remove reservoir cap or brew head until pressure is completely relieved. 

Refer to the section “CAUTION: PRESSURE” for additional information.

14. This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced 

physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless 

they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a 

person responsible for their safety. Children should be supervised to ensure that they 

do not play with the appliance.

15. Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children, or 

incapacitated individuals.

16. This appliance is not intended to be operated by means of an external timer or  

separate remote-control system.

17. This appliance is intended to be used in household and similar applications such as: 

staff kitchen areas in shops, offices and other working environments farm houses by 

clients in hotels, motels and other residential type environments bed and breakfast 

type environments.
